"I got more from this short guided meditation and activity than I ever dreamed I would."

Experience Nature As Healer
Discover how everyday-anywhere nature can: guide, calm, inform, and restore you. Nature can elicit a sense of restoration and protection, comfort and guidance.
Beautiful - compelling images support Marlow Shami's focus on the challenges and rewards of connecting with nature in a mass-technological culture.
Studies conducted over the past twenty years confirm what we know instinctually -- that contact with the natural world and meditation can lift your spirits, reduce anxiety, alleviate pain, increase brain function, and help cultivate a sense of belonging and compassion.
Nature is everywhere. This workshop's experiential activity component can be conducted in both urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Length of presentation is based on your needs and time frame: 45 min. (Powerpoint only), 90 min, 120 min.
PART 1: 45 minute PowerPoint presentation. Discover how everyday-anywhere nature can: guide, calm, inform, and restore you. Nature can elicit a sense of restoration and protection, comfort and guidance. Beautiful - compelling images support the focus on the challenges and rewards of connecting with nature in a mass-technological culture.
PART 2: 15 -20 minute Guided Meditation designed to relax the cognitive mind and cultivate sensitivity to our being a part of the natural world--not a part from the natural world. This is an important part of the workshops message. We are the only species that has a choice to think and behave in affinity with our larger "self" or not. There is a robust body of research that supports the effectiveness of meditation in regards to my workshops intention.
PART 3: 30 minutes I will be teaching a very simple but powerful activity that teaches the Natural Systems Process. to take place on the green. This activity is entitled The Permission Activity. People who attend this part of the workshop will be able to take this activity back to the classroom, community group, camp, family, senior center... really anywhere. Sharing this activity provides a platform for others to connect with one another and the natural world in a meaningful and healing way. The activity can be used as a community builder.
